What do books, clothes and candles have in common?
In Ohio, all three products are being used to raise funds and awareness for anti-trafficking work.
This month, I got the opportunity to speak at She Has A Name’s Anti-Human Trafficking Organization Fair. The unique event highlighted companies and nonprofits that are using their products to fight modern slavery, including:
- Legacy Candle Co., which sells hand-poured, 100% soy wax candles that help victims and survivors
- Novel, an ethical clothing line that combats slavery in the fashion industry through organic, sustainable materials and natural dyes that won’t harm people or the environment
- The Black Lens novel, a dark literary thriller exposing the underbelly of sex trafficking in rural America
